60 Days For Men

A Radical 60-Day Bible Study Challenge for Men

Living Free and Victorious in a World Warring Against You

60 Days For Men is a radical 60-day Bible study challenge for men desiring lasting freedom and victory from sexual sin, men who want to walk free in a world that wars against them. The world we live in is under Satan’s influence, and one of the ways we experience this as men is the many sexual temptations we face—lustful thoughts, pornography, and sex outside the context of Biblical marriage, just to name a few. This Bible study tells the story of every Christian's freedom from the power of sin, won for us by Jesus when he died on the cross and was resurrected. When we are born again, the Holy Spirit gives us the power to walk free, even if that hasn’t been your experience. This Bible study is intended to be a framework for a focused daily time around specific passages that speak to us as men, helping us understand the work that’s been done in our life by Jesus Christ and thus helping us realize the power that we now have, to walk free from sexual sin. It is certainly not exhaustive, and not intended to replace your regular study of the Word, but simply a presentation of the passages that help each of us understand the nature of sexual sin and what God has done to set us free. The passages are specifically selected and organized in a progression, leading the reader through a process of shedding, refocusing, retraining, and finally, walking in victory.

This Bible Study is for you, but the outcome is for your family.

The family is one of God’s greatest earthly blessings to us, and one of the most powerful forces for good the world has ever known. Strong families build communities, bless churches and proclaim the Gospel. They build relationships, businesses and legacies. They model Christ’s relationship to His Church. And not surprisingly, they are one of Satan’s greatest targets.

We men are so often the inroad. When we neglect our responsibilities as fathers and husbands, our families seldom thrive. When we give in to lust and engage in sexual sins like pornography, our families pay the price—long before we are discovered. Family relationships, like plants without water, wither and fade in the presence of this hidden sin. Anger and bitterness almost always result, and few relationships survive such a drought. It is more than just the divorce rate among Christian couples that we ought to worry about—many relationships that "survive" on the surface may in fact be dead underneath. Marriages and parent-child relationships are meant to thrive, not simply survive.

Sexual Purity isn’t our aim. Holiness is.

It isn’t a new story. The family has been at the focus of Satan’s attack ever since he successfully infiltrated the first husband-wife relationship in the Garden of Eden. And when we’re struggling with an addiction to pornography or some other sexual sin, it’s helpful to know that his target hasn’t changed since the beginning of time. But this study isn’t about struggling against sexual sin. This isn’t another anti-pornography Bible study, because that’s not the real issue. Pornography isn’t the problem, it is the symptom of a much greater issue—men that aren’t walking in the Spirit. This study is about learning to walk in the Spirit, leaving the struggle with lust behind and walking forward in victory. Walking in holiness, the way God intended.

When we’re struggling against some type of sexual sin, we’re often caught up in the moment. Our vision is short-sighted. It often seems to us as a battle over the next hour of our life, or even a battle over the next few minutes rather than a battle for the future of our family. And when we look at things like that, living life in the moment, we tend to lose—Particularly when we buy into the lie that our actions affect no one but ourselves.

Don’t let Satan misdirect. Understand that he’s really after the disruption of your family and your witness. You’re not fighting for whether or not you're going to give in to sin right now, you’re fighting for something much larger. The ramifications of our actions go beyond today—our choices resonate for generations. Recognize his target and it will illustrate the gravity of your choices. It’s a big step towards victory when you see the battle for what it is.

How to use this study:

Our suggestion: read one day at a time, every morning, for 60 days without interruption. During this time, for even more impact, limit your extra-Biblical media (such as television, internet, books, etc.) as much as possible and deeply meditate on that day's reading throughout the rest of the day to let the passages sink in. Each day is designed to build upon the previous, providing a catalyst to open your mind and heart to God. The power is not in this study, but in Him who sets a man free, and He freely offers that power to every believer.

Don’t let Satan win. Fight back. You can’t claim ignorance anymore.
